Step 1: Measure
Place the desired amount of dry bird's nest in a large soup bowl and get ready for soaking. To make a single rice bowl of bird's nest dessert, approximately 6 to 7 grams of dry bird's nest is required.

Step 2: Soak
Use cool boiled water to soak the dry bird's nest. Important: completely submerge the bird's nest in order for it to absorb the maximum amount of water and fully expand.
Type | Soak |
---|---|
White | 4 hours |
Golden | 4 hours |
Red | 8 hours |

Step 3: Sift
After soaking, pour the used water away using a sift or a double-layered filter so no bird's nest will be lost or wasted. High grade bird's nest expands about 8 to 10 times after soaked.

Step 4: Tear Off
Gently split the nest into separate strips.

Step 5: Ready to Cook
The soaked bird's nest is now ready to be simmered.
Type | Simmer |
